A Wonderful World, Bhairavi Jaikishan presented at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012, the intricate techniques, colours and silhouettes created for several decades. Keeping the focus on cocktail, evening and bridal wear, Bhairavi showed ornate saris and lehengas along with the very unique lehenga-sari, which is her trademark in a crisply edited show.
Rich shades of black, nude, ivory, mustard, emerald, midnight blue, aubergine, shocking pink, red and burgundy scorched the ramp with their beauty. The silhouettes were traditionally classic; restricted to the favourite options as contrasts appeared for saris and blouses with dramatic eye-catching necklines that almost resembled jewelled neckpieces.
Using only net as her fabric choice, Bhairavi turned the fragile beautiful fabric into visions around which only dreams are woven. Down the red velvet covered ramp, the models looked ethereal as the first black lehenga-sari with the contrast lining glided down the catwalk.
From visions in black, Bhairavi brought in ivory for the sari with bunches of tonal resham floral embellishments, a contrast petticoat and black net choli.
