Known as the princess of ‘Bohemian luxe’ and the ‘inventor of Kurti’, veteran designer Monisha Jaising who completed silver jubilee in her association with fashion design this year, presented a scintillating and urbane play of culture and couture at the India Couture Week 2014, New Delhi on 17th July called ‘World Bride’. The stage was a perfect landscape of French lifestyle in Europe depicting artists painting the lovely muses and world brides storming the runway. The modern bridal collection took inspiration from the fusion of Indian, Mughal and European styles of monarchy, architecture and lifestyle. Lisa Haydon played the role of a perfect muse for her dressed in a white embellished sheer crop top and a black leather lehenga. The silhouettes were constructed keeping for the perfect Indian body type perfect to suit your elegance. Neutral colours like ivory, silver, gold and sorbet colours like mint green, ice blue, banana yellow, pale pink, whiskey creme imparted a raw freshness to the look. The Mukaish, Persian and Zardozi embroideries were used to construct sensuous sari gowns, swiding lehengas, embellished leggings, sherwanis, evening wear, and structured versions of the kurti making the collection a perfect amalgamation of cultural richness and modernity.The collection was showcased at Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers India Couture Week 2014 organized by FDCI.
